Dutch Apple Cake Recipe

Dutch Apple Cake Recipe: This is yet another autumnal dessert that is delicious. If apples are numerous and tasty, there are a lot of different ways to express gratitude to mother nature for the bounty she has provided. During the fall, I spend a lot of time picking wild apples and then preparing delicious treats with them.

  • Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a sifter.

  • Shortening and one cup of sugar should be creamed together in a large bowl until the mixture becomes light. Whip in the egg and vanilla extract until frothy. Sifted ingredients should be added to the creamed mixture in an alternating fashion with milk, with the sifted ingredients coming first and finishing with the milk. Once the baking pan has been greased, spread the batter onto a 7 x 11 inch pan.

  • It is recommended to arrange the apple chunks in rows on the batter, with the sharp edges being slightly pressed in. Using a quarter cup of sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle the top.

  • Bake at a temperature of 175 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) for around fifty to sixty minutes, or until the apples are soft and the cake fails the test.
